The winners of the French video contest donated their prize to two NGOs.
On the 19th of December, the winners of the French high school video contest from the Lycée Notre Dames des Dunes in Dunkirk, donated their prize of 1,500 € to the Non Governmental Organisation Le Refuge and Solfa Solidarite Femme. A great act of generosity from these young citizens!
Le Refuge helps young people who are victims of homophobia, by providing them with a temporary place to stay and helping them to regain confidence in themselves. Solfa Solidarite Femme aims to fight gender discrimination and in particular violence against women and children.
This financial help will enable these NGOs to expand their activities located in Dunkirk. For example, with 500 €, Le Refuge can accommodate two young people for two months. Solfa plans to use the money to run wellness workshops and activities for the victims they work with.
